Sights and Sounds Seventy-One

Last night Yorkshire experienced some incredible winds. A 93mph gust was recorded near Sheffield. This morning the skies were clear blue. Although it was a little windy still things had calmed down considerably. It was nice to see the sun and we decided to go to Fountains Abbey to take some pics. This Abbey was burned down by Henry VIII. It truly is an amazing place and my pics can't do it justice.

So it's off back to Buxton tomorrow to play indoor football with my brother in the evening and then we fly back home on Saturday!

Sights and Sounds Seventy

Happy New Year from the UK. We are still here and managing with nasty weather. New Years Eve was fabulous. Sarah and Julian hosted a party. I got to catch up with some people I hadn't seen for many years. Here's a couple of shots from the night.

On New Years Day we went for a walk and had lunch at Tom's parent's pub, The Waltzing Weazel. Dusti had a fine piece of lamb and i went with the Steak and Ale Pie. I was a little cold and tired after we got back to Julian's house so i hit the sack early. I have been suffering from a full on cold while we have been here which has been a major pain.

We headed to my parents in Knaresborough yesterday and will be here until Friday. In the afternoon yesterday we walked by the River Nidd to check out some tree sculptures some mysterious artist had done. Check this one out of the Green Man.

Today we went on a road trip to the viaduct at Ribblesdale. It was a drive through the Yorkshire Dales into some wintry weather. We had some lunch at the Crown pub in Horton in Ribblesdale.
