Sights and Sounds Ninety-Five

After a two year break i am updating again. We have some interesting trips planned throughout this year so i decided what the hell. The last two weeks have seen me fly to Las Vegas and Boise, ID for work. Upon returning to SC i was then to immediately drive to the North Carolina mountains. Dusti and I are house/dog sitting for my brother while he is visiting our parents in the UK. Today was our first full day. We decided to go on a hike. This articular hike was 5.5 miles to and from Twin Falls. It was quite a climb in some parts but the weather was a perfect 65 degrees. The main problem we encountered was Dusti's hiking boots fell apart about 2 miles up the mountain. Both soles fell off. We tried tying them on various ways but it was to be. She managed to continue and complete the hike with basically nothing between her socks and the rocky wet and sometimes muddy ground. She's a trooper! I decided to lug my camera back pack up the mountain too so i could take some decent shots. I used my travel tripod so i could take some long exposures. I played around with a couple in Adobe Lightroom and am pretty happy with them. Here are a few. After a short nap in the afternoon and feeding the dogs we ventured out to downtown Brevard for a couple of beers and some food. We ended up at The Phoenix. Interesting little place. Chatted with some locals including Wild Bill who apparently has lived in all but 4 states and has been divorced 5 times. Highly entertaining.
